  • Abstract
    Addresses some design issues for building a Web-based bulletin board system for traditional paper-based official documents. In an organization, when an official document is to be distributed, it is usually copied and delivered to the corresponding recipients. However, some of this delivery is unnecessary; it not only wastes paper and manpower, but also causes environmental protection and document management problems. In order to accommodate these issues, we have developed a Web-based official document bulletin system called “Ann”. Ann is a highly automated system; it processes the documents quickly as well as producing both Web pages and hyperlinks automatically. The system can help to reduce the workload for manipulating printed official documents, while users can browse and make hard-copies if needed. Since HTML can neither properly divide pages nor control the document size, we provide solutions to this in our system. Ann is currently deployed at the National Taiwan University
