Abstract :
The acoustic method is a very useful and sensitive technique for PD measurements in GIS. If this method is to be used in apparatus with N 2-SF6 gas mixture insulation the sensitivity of the method is different due to the different sound propagation properties. Assuming the sensitivity of the acoustic method in pure SF 6 as standard, the sensitivity of this method for apparatus using mixtures cannot be predicted exactly
