Managing the management: using active Meta-MIB for policy based management

Policy-based management has become particularly demanding while the provisioning of management instructions for management systems is still an open research question. This paper presents a novel approach to this problem by proposing an active Meta-MIB concept that allows the dynamic functionality of policy-based management to be achieved. It can be regarded as a step towards effective semi-automated policy-based management.
