An active network-based network management framework

This paper presents a new network management framework. This framework is based on active networks (AN). It includes AN-primary manager, AN-sub manager, AN-agent and other network management components. The dispatch of these components within AN is described. The security of this new framework is also considered. This framework is compatible with the traditional framework but has many advantages such as flexibility and capabilities to support distributed management over the traditional network management framework
