Abstract
A ZnS/ZnSe stratified grating wave filter fabricated by using a vacuum coating technique on a BK7 glass waveguide is reported. At room temperature optical controlling modulation switch of the grating wave filter has been realized by means of a prism coupling with the waveguide under an Ar+ laser pulse. The origin of the optical nonlinearity is attributed to band filling caused by the nonlinear absorption of the material and reflection occurring among the multilayer films
