Abstract
Cell delineation is an important function in the TC sublayer of ATM networks. This paper introduces the design of parallel ATM cell delineation for a cell-based interface. The average time to achieve proper octet boundary is analyzed. Then different Markov chain models are established in order to analyse the different distribution of confidences in the case of proper and wrong octet boundary. The parameters of circuits are carefully selected to minimize the average time
