Abstract :
In mobile communications, synchronous code division multiple access (SCDMA) signals are subject to multipath fading which has a fractal property. Multiuser detection needs to be employed to suppress multiple access interference (MAI) and to recover the information symbols. To implement the detector, explicit knowledge of the users´ signature waveforms is required. A blind fractal signal estimation algorithm based on combined singular value decomposition (SVD) and fractal theory is proposed. This algorithm obtains precise channel response by estimating the intersymbol interference (ISI) part and ISI-free part, separately. The simulation results show the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed algorithm
