Abstract :
Network management needs a network performance monitor to report the present status of the network by collecting and measuring performance parameters. To satisfy the demand of CAINONET (China Advanced INfo-Optical NETwork), this paper probes into the related network performance measurement and evaluation methods, demonstrates the necessity and rationality to take OWDP (one-way delay protocol) as a method of network performance monitor. Then it pays more attention to OWDP´s basic principle, its key problem and its implementation in a system
