Abstract :
In this paper, a double-dwell serial search algorithm having multi-level threshold values is proposed to mitigate the possible performance degradation caused by the use of single pair thresholds in a PN code acquisition system. We present a mathematical model and performance analysis of the proposed algorithm in DS-CDMA systems. We also compare the mean code acquisition time of our algorithm with that of a conventional scheme under IMT-2000 channel models. It is shown that our scheme outperforms the conventional method having one pair of threshold values by 0.2-0.3 sec with respect to the mean code acquisition time
