Abstract :
New multimedia applications have imposed totally different bandwidth and quality of service (QoS) requirements on the Internet networks. In order to meet the differentiated service requirements, the current Internet service model has to be extended to support the increased demands for the emerging real-time applications. The admission control mechanisms are expected to be one of the most key components of the future integrated service Internet model for providing multi-level service guarantees with the different classes of service. A flexible admission control mechanism is provided. Beginning with a brief survey on existing admission control methods, this paper then follows by discussing the basic principles of our approach, and concludes with simulations of our admission control algorithm
