Abstract
In the wireless communication environment, it is critical to increase the transmission efficiency because of the channel bandwidth. At the same time the high bit error rate (BER) in the wireless channel is another key issue. This paper, based on the type-I hybrid ARQ/FEC mechanism, proposes a new cell transmission scheme to improve the transmission efficiency in the high-BER channel, so as to make the network keep on running in the worst physical transmission channels. Compared with the traditional type-I hybrid ARQ/FEC mechanisms, this scheme, except for the complexity of complementation, brings in almost no performance losses
