Abstract :
The wavelet representation provides multiresolution/multifrequency expression of a signal with localization in both time and frequency. This paper proposes that motion estimation in the lowest frequency subband of the wavelet pyramid be implemented to reduce the total bits. The image error frame is encoded by the local embedded zerotree wavelet (LEZW) scheme. Quality scalability in interframe coding is thus achieved
