Abstract :
We have demonstrated the coherent detection of cw terahertz radiation. Furthermore, we have shown that this approach is directly amenable to two-dimensional THz imaging. It is worth noting that the emitter limits the frequency response in the present experiment. By using appropriate nonlinear optical media for both generation and detection, we believe that the response can be extended to the mid-infrared
