Abstract :
Summary form only given. Efficient quasi-phase-matched (QPM) second-harmonic generation (SHG) has been realized using periodically domain-inverted waveguides. In this paper, fabrication technique for periodically poled polymer film using photoisomerization reaction and an experimental demonstration of QPM-SHG is presented. We use cis-trans photoisomerization of azo-chromophore which causes chromophore reorientation which results in change of refractive index and nonlinear coefficients. Polymethylmetaclyrate (PMMA) containing 5.1% of disperse orange 3 was spincoated on a pyrex glass substrate
