Abstract :
We demonstrate the combination of offset launch and subcarrier multiplexing (SCM) to allow extended range link operation at 2.5Gb/s. Indeed, it is shown that the transmission of a single 2.5Gb/s channel over 300m of multimode fibre can offer better performance by being transmitted in the passband region of the fibre using subcarrier modulation rather than a channel confined to the baseband region
