Abstract
This paper describes a more robust algorithm for encoding speech signals at very poor signal to noise ratios (SNR) and low bit rate based on information share. It consists of an improved speech enhancement scheme integrated into a 2 kbps vocoder framework. In this scheme, the speech enhancement is based on an improved spectral minim tracking (SMT) and the encoder is based on a mixed harmonic and vector modeling of the excitation (HVXC). Results showing the effects of the presented scheme are given for very noisy environments
