Abstract :
This paper examines the simultaneous measurement of amplitude scintillation in both the C-band and Ku band. Under the given experimental conditions a sampling interval of 100 ms and a basic measuring interval of 1 minute proved to be appropriate to keep errors low in determining the standard deviations, the peak to peak values and the variance. The scintillation spectra, the diurnal variation and seasonal trends of scintillation intensity are discussed. The results of an investigation of the fluctuations of the amplitude scintillation signals due to scattering, turbulence, clear sky, cloud and rain, are described
