Abstract
The Shannon (1948) sampling theorem is suitable for processing signals with good mathematical properties, but it is restricted to “band-limited” signals and the sampling function (sinc function) decreases slowly. A sampling theorem for arbitrary continuous signal is established in this paper. It is based on the concept of multiresolution sampling (MRS)
