Abstract
By taking advantage of the low rank property of the covariance matrix, the clutter-rejection performance of the reduced-rank processor would be as close as possible to the optimum adaptive processing (GAP). Although a lot of existing literature concerned with the problem of this sub-optimum processor design, the selection of the subspace and reduced rank transformation which is easy to be implemented in real time is still an open research area. A simple and effective method which is termed the non-clutter channel (NCC) method, is presented. Through a theoretical analysis and simulation, it is shown that this approach can be fulfilled at low computational cost with good performance
