Abstract :
This paper presents a multi-scale morphological simplification algorithm for image segmentation. The algorithm takes into account not only the size, but also the contrast of image components. It transforms homogeneous regions of an image into flat zones and retains the details which are sensitive to the human visual system. Experimental results provide the performance of the proposed algorithm
