Abstract :
The proposed knowledge management tool-ESC InfoBank is the backbone of the ESCARV User Group to be officially launched in January 2001. The ESC InfoBank is a relational structured database available via the Internet with four major hubs, “process”, “case histories”, “infrastructure” and “source”. The information is of noncompetitive nature and covers electrical system compatibility relevant aspects like EMC, safety and certification within the railway sector. The InfoBank benefits to the user are described in both a qualitative and quantitative way and the cost split of the maintenance is declared
