Abstract
This paper investigates the transient stability assessment for an on-line application. It uses sensitivity analysis to evaluate the preventive actions to improve the dynamic security of a power system when a transient stability problem is detected. For operation planning and operation of a power system, generation re-dispatch and load shed are the possible control actions to enhance the security level. The coordination of these actions is necessary to prevent overestimated actions. Tests have been performed on the IEEE-39 bus system. It confirms that the proposed approach is applicable, accurate and fast
