Abstract :
A new scheme of arbitrary waveform generator which contains many multilevel converters based on GTO is proposed in the paper. It can output higher power than the usual arbitrary waveform generator. Its output voltage can be continuously regulated. The circuit can be used widely, for example, it can be used to compensate reactive power when the generator outputs sinusoidal waveform, the waveform performance of its output is as good as that of the traditional voltage converter, the magnetic circuit is fairly simple. The parameters of the converter are discussed in detail in the paper, the simulation results are given as well
