Abstract :
Due to the importance that the oligo-elements play in the human metabolism, we have undertaken this work to determine if there is a correlation between the variation of the concentration of these elements and health. As NAA allows the determination of the concentration of elements in the order of ppb, we used this technique to dose the trace elements in the serum and in liquid or freeze-dried blood. This work shows the importance of the precise determination of average values of the concentration of trace elements. We have shown that the values determined for Algeria differ from those in the literature. It is therefore necessary that regional studies be undertaken. Although this work has been carried only on a small number of samples coming from sick or healthy subjects, it has shown a correlation between the concentration of trace elements and the pathology considered. It would be therefore important to complete it by a study on a great number of subjects to obtain less hazardous conclusions on relationships between trace elements and different pathologies
