Abstract :
A novel 3D differential coil has been designed and fabricated for magnetic stimulation of the CNS. This coil can provide the localization quality comparable to a small-sized butterfly coil which generated the most localized induced fields in the literature. Furthermore, it can provide adequate inductance to match regular stimulators while the small-sized butterfly coil can not. The induced fields generated by this new coil were measured and in agreement with theoretical calculations
