Abstract
Summary form only given. As opposed to previously reported results on interaction of solitons of the same dimensionality we investigate phenomenology associated with the interaction and collision of two solitons of the same continuous medium but of different dimensionality. Observations are carried out in the screening photorefractive soliton configuration, in which a one-dimensional slab/stripe beam is self-trapped simultaneously to a two-dimensional needle soliton. Simultaneous observation of the two phenomena is obtained by choosing the size and intensity of the two single beams so as to allow soliton propagation of each with the same common external physical parameters (i.e. external voltage and background illumination).
