Abstract
We propose a new source location method based on the total least squares (TLS) algorithm using geostationary Earth orbiting (GEO) satellites from time difference of arrival (TDOA) measurements. The pro posed algorithm is useful when the positions of GEO satellites are known with insufficient accuracy. To test the proposed algorithm, 5000 Monte Carlo simulations are performed and the results demonstrate that our TLS approach outperforms the ordinary least squares approach
