Abstract
Multimedia applications are characterized by the heterogeneity and continuous evolution of its media objects, such as text, image, graphics, video, and audio. Thus, it is necessary to define a technique that allows the extensibility of a multimedia system in order to support seamlessly new types and formats of media objects. In this paper, we present an object oriented multimedia object model that realizes the extensibility of the system, while taking into account the different dimensions of multimedia documents, which are the temporal, spatial, structural, and semantic dimensions
