Abstract
Due to the low level signal voltage of a control circuit, mis-operation or failure caused by its own EMI often occurs in power electronic equipment. In this paper, a systematic approach on EMI propagation characteristics is proposed. The nonlinear characteristic of the propagation is considered and the complicated parameter extraction is avoided. As an example, electromagnetic disturbances in the control circuit of a 6 kW chopper charger equipment are detected and analyzed. Experiments demonstrate the validity of this approach. As a result, mis-operation of the control circuit caused by EMI is diagnosed
