Abstract :
This paper investigates the steady-state symmetrical conditions in capacitor-run two-phase induction motors. Assuming symmetrical conditions in a permanent-split capacitor motor, some relations of power factor, copper losses, starting current, capacitance are derived in order to predict the optimal value of k-ratio between effective turns of auxiliary to main winding. Some conclusions are formulated about the rated values of the voltage and capacitance of the capacitor.
