Abstract
We present a new nonlinear approach to control the speed of a vehicle. We first propose a nonlinear transformation of a vehicle dynamics model, which takes into account the main nonlinearities of the process, to facilitate the control of the vehicle dynamics. Afterwards, we establish that the nonlinear model can be made asymptotically stable around a desired longitudinal speed
