  • Abstract
A new fast frequency sweep solution in Ansoft HFSS version 6 allowed us to obtain the frequency response of the imaginary part of the port´s admittance and impedance of a closed cylindrical cavity. A comparison of analytical and simulated resonance frequencies and unloaded quality factors of the cavity modes proves that the microwave resonant structure parameters can be determined with a very high precision. A cylindrical TE011-mode cavity, tightly coupled to the input and output ports, is then investigated. The comparison between simulated results and measured parameters of the cavity is also given
