Abstract :
This paper analyzes the problems which arise using gas turbine health monitoring systems, and proposes a method of improving the reliability in gas turbine health determination. The method involves the following main steps: an analysis to evaluate the best measurement/parameter combination, in terms of accuracy in gas turbine health determination; and the submission of measurements to sensor fault detection and isolation analyses, before they are used as input by the health monitoring system, in order to verify if there are measurements affected by errors due to faulty sensors. Three FDI techniques are developed and compared: for the residual generation, parity equations, dynamic observers or Kalman filters, respectively
