Abstract :
The objective of this paper is to investigate individual- and organisation-based models of the innovation adoption process with a special reference to their application in researching the information technology (IT) adoption process in higher education institutions (HEIs). From a theoretical perspective, this study evaluates the main features each of innovation adoption process models that may support their application in certain contexts. From practitioner´s perspective the study develops a better understanding of the critical issues and factors that could influence their application in general and in HEIs in particular
