Abstract :
The development of an alternative technique to solve systems of partial differential equations using DSP concepts has generated a lot of recent interest. In this contribution, we look at the 2D wave equation and consider the initial and boundary conditions necessary to effect a satisfactory solution. This paper represents a fuller discussion of the problem and its solution than has been published previously and we show that there are many aspects to be considered before the expected solution is determined
