Abstract :
In this paper, a new robust design of Power System Stabilizer (PSS) using H control via Normalized Coprime Factorization (NCF) approach is proposed. The design procedure of H PSS in a single machine connected to an infinite bus (SMIB) system is systematically described. The technique to simplify the problem associated with the selection of weighting function in H control design is presented. The performance and robustness of the H∞ PSS are evaluated in comparison with the conventional PSS. Simulation study confirms the significant effects of the proposed H PSS
