Abstract
We present a low-complexity digital encoder for the implementation of mismatch-shaping DACs of arbitrary high resolution. High-resolution signals can thereby be D/A converted linearly despite mismatch of electrical parameters. In effect, high-performance DAC systems can be implemented without high-order analog reconstruction filters, which are the characteristic drawback of delta-sigma DACs. All required filtering can be implemented in the digital domain, and the proposed technique thus facilitates the implementation of high-performance DACs in basic digital CMOS technologies
