Title :
Control loop for optimization of power consumption in VLSI designs
Author_Institution :
Philips Semicond. AG, Zurich, Switzerland
Abstract :
A control loop is presented, which keeps the supply voltage of a digital signal processing unit of a battery powered system to the minimum required for proper operation. It monitors the conditions on chip in terms of diffusion process parameters and temperature and sets the operating conditions of an associated power management unit accordingly
