  • Abstract
    We propose the fiber-effective-area managed distributed Raman amplification system. The proposed transmission line enabled 1 dB improvement of the optical signal-to-noise-ratio and Q value so that 32/spl times/40 Gb/s WDM unrepeatered transmission of 202-km was achieved.
