Abstract :
We report experimental and simulation results on transmission. and simultaneous dispersion-compensation of 16/spl times/40 Gb/s carrier-suppressed RZ ETDM signals with 0.4 bit/s/Hz spectral-efficiency over 6/spl times/120 km NDSF. Q-factors between 16.3 and 17.7 dB were achieved at 2/sup 31/-1 pattern length without FEC or polarisation interleaving.
