Abstract
A lossless and inertialess compression algorithm based on the analysis of measurement signals in time domain is presented in the paper. The operation performed by the algorithm can be described as a non-uniform sampling where the sampling period is determined on the basis of the signal derivative analysis. In particular, the algorithm shows good efficiency when applied to the slowly-variable quasi-stationary signals with short, irregularly occurring, highly-variable components, and can be applied to continuous and long-term logging of measurement data
