  • Abstract
This paper discusses the advantages and recent progress in all-fiber polarization monitoring and the applications of this technology to all-optical WDM system applications. Recently demonstrated all-fiber polarimeters show promise of providing low-cost, compact, in-line polarization monitoring. The availability of such devices may enable WDM system applications such as ail-optical, bit-rate independent PMD mitigation and polarization demultiplexing.
