Abstract :
The chirp properties for an SOA-MZI wavelength converter are characterized based on measurements of the /spl alpha/-parameter. Results for three optical modulators with quite different chirp properties demonstrate that the chirp of the converted signal is essentially independent of the chirp of the input signal.
