Abstract :
This paper presents a modified version of the two-dimensional higher order statistics (2DHOS) based adaptive enhancer, called median cumulant based adaptive enhancer (MCBAE). Compared with both median filter and the two-dimensional cumulant based adaptive enhancer (2DCBAE), the modified method shows better properties in preserving edges and attenuating white or colored Gaussian noise (W/CGN) of unknown covariance. Simulation results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method
