Abstract :
A fuzzy sliding control is proposed to design a fuel injection system for a low emission automotive engine. Multilayer fuzzy rules are combined with the sliding mode to compensate the imprecision of current oxygen sensors. By the synthesis, the designed controller can achieve the precise control of the stoichiometric air/fuel ratio. The fuzzy sliding control offers a practical design methodology for the emission control because its hybrid structure meets both robustness and performance requirements
