Abstract :
We analyze the performance of a direct-sequence spread-spectrum packet radio network. Our analysis builds upon the analytical framework developed earlier by Sousa and Silvester (see IEEE J. Selected Areas Commun., vol.SAC-8, p.762-71, June 1990). In particular, we point out that the interference distribution functions used in their analysis exhibit a scaling feature which can be exploited in performance calculations. We also calculate the throughput for specific processing gain selections and for a specific coding scheme. The sensitivity of the results to variations in the power loss law is also examined
