Abstract :
This paper presents an alternative equalization method for the discrete multi-tone (DMT) data transmission system with selectively windowed frequency bins. For non-windowed bins, the previously proposed per tone equalization is used, while for explicitly windowed bins a new equalizer structure is derived to account for the windowing induced inter-bin interference. At comparable performance, the resulting configuration is shown to have considerably lower complexity of practical implementation, when compared with implicit windowing based on lengthened per tone equalizers
