  • Abstract
We propose a multi-compartment system framework for analyzing and controlling complex nonlinear dynamical systems. Firstly, we define the terms compartment, multicompartment system (MCS), and multi-compartment model (MCM). Based on these definitions we develop a software tool MCM-Sim to obtain a “construction kit” for this kind of systems. By means of the two-compartment system Freeman-oscillator and the six-compartment system pyloric network of crayfish we demonstrate the effectiveness of our MCS approach. We also show preliminary results of a controlling frame for multi-compartment systems
