Abstract :
Biological systems provide a wealth of information from which artificial systems can be derived; this is the foundation of biomimetic systems. This paper describes the development of an algorithm for analog VLSI implementation of a visual system that derives from the structural and functional aspects of the cephalopod visual system. By creating an analog VLSI focal-plane array, we can mimic the retina structure that produces particular abilities in the octopus
