Abstract :
Based on diagonals of square matrices, a diagonal method is created for modifying Λ-shaped fuzzy sets. The method can be used as both fuzzification and defuzzification procedures. There are also connections to arithmetic operations in the set of standard Λ-shaped fuzzy numbers (the first idea about standard fuzzy numbers was given previously by the author (2000)). Some examples are given concerning standard fuzzy integers
